“For everything there is a season,
and a time for every matter under heaven.”
At The Plymouth Church, we love to host events that invite the entire community to share in our joy. We put on a number of consistently popular events throughout the year, attracting crowds from far and wide.
Annual Fall Fair
This annual community event is many things to many people...a White Elephant Extravaganza (a yard sale of magical proportions), a gem of a jewelry store, not one, but two book sales, a unique Country Store with myriad treats, a charming crafts boutique, a Bake Shoppe, and, of course...lunch! But it's so much more. The Plymouth Church Fall Fair is also...a toy store for every budget, an enchanting costume shop, a gift shop for every season and every occasion, a friendly place to find useful household gadgets and decorations, a delectable walk down our famous 'Cookie Lane,' and even a visit to Africa! For more information, visit our Events Calendar.
Biennial Auction
Once, every two years, on a Saturday night in November, we gather in our Parish Hall to eat, drink, socialize, and bid on great items donated by local businesses and our own church community! Because it's our biggest fundraiser, it’s always a highly anticipated evening. As with all our community events, we gladly provide childcare at the church, so everyone can attend.
Advent Spiral
An Advent Spiral is a spiritual experience of quiet reverence for children and families. Each child takes an apple with a small, unlit candle in its core and follows a spiral path leading to the center, where a lit candle awaits. Each child then lights their own candle and, on the journey out, places it among the evergreen boughs. This ritual creates a mood of wonder and quiet anticipation both children and adults can enjoy. All are welcome to this special event on the first Sunday of Advent.
The Longest Night
A worship service to recognize the longest night of the year. For those carrying the weight of the world or the sorrow of loss, the liturgy brings us all together for solidarity and support. This unique worship experience invites people to offer up the hopes and fears of our community and the personal sorrow we carry alone. All are welcome to this unique worship experience on the Winter Solstice: the longest night of the year.
Rummage, Plant, & Bake Sale
On the first weekend in May, we host a 2-day Spring sale of used clothes, perennial plants and baked goodies. Clean out your closet of old clothes still in good condition and shop for new favorite pieces for your wardrobe. We accept clothing and plant donations the last week of April. The day ends up being loads of fun, meeting new friends, sharing stories, and gaining a little garden wisdom!
